Blencowe Design ("we", "us") is a residential building design practice serving Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, the Hunter and the Central Coast. We respect your privacy and handle your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

We collect information you choose to give us, which may include your name, email address, phone number, the suburb of your project, and details about what you're planning to build, renovate or buy. We collect this when you contact us by phone or email, fill out an enquiry or questionnaire (including forms on Facebook or Instagram), message us on social media, or engage us for design services.

If you engage us for a project, we may also collect information reasonably needed to carry out that work — such as your site address, property documents, and information about how you live that helps us design your home.

How we use it

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, provide our design services, prepare proposals and advice, and manage our client relationship with you. If you've asked us about a project, we may follow up with you about that enquiry. We do not send marketing newsletters unless you've specifically asked for them, and we never sell your information to anyone.

Facebook and Instagram lead forms

If you contact us through a lead form or message on Facebook or Instagram, Meta collects and processes your responses under its own Data Policy before passing them to us. Once we receive your details, we handle them under this policy and use them only to contact you about your enquiry.

Who we share it with

We don't share your personal information with third parties except: where needed to deliver your project (for example, with a surveyor, engineer or certifier working on your job, and only with your knowledge); with service providers who help us run our business (such as email, file storage and practice software, which may store data securely overseas); or where required by law.

How we store it

Your information is stored in reputable, password-protected business systems (such as our email, cloud file storage and design software). We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we keep project records only as long as needed for professional and legal obligations.

Website analytics

Our website may use basic analytics and social media tools (such as the Meta Pixel) that collect anonymous usage data via cookies to help us understand how people find and use our site, and to show relevant ads. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us at any time to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it where we're not legally required to keep it. If you have a question or concern about how we've handled your information, contact us and we'll do our best to sort it out promptly.
